Join us for the international premiere of the documentary American Delivery—a tribute to the vital role of nurses in shaping the future of maternal health.

American Delivery is a compelling new documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Carolyn Jones that offers an intimate look at labor and delivery nurses, home-visiting nurses, and certified nurse-midwives across the United States. The film was initially inspired by the global impact of one nurse: Dr. Joyce Fitzpatrick, Inaugural Director of the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy at Case Western Reserve University, and recipient of the ICN Florence Nightingale International Foundation’s International Achievement Award in 2019. The film’s advisory team also includes global nurse leaders Dr. Judith Shamian, Dr. Greer Glazer and Dr. Linda Everett.

At a time when the U.S. faces a maternal health crisis, this film brings viewers inside hospitals, clinics, and homes to witness the critical role nurses play in ensuring safe and compassionate childbirth. Through powerful, real-life stories, American Delivery highlights both the challenges and triumphs of delivering care—especially in underserved and marginalized communities.

Though rooted in the U.S., American Delivery speaks to nurses across the globe, who may see their own experiences reflected in the stories shared. The film offers a source of inspiration, courage, and solidarity for nurses everywhere—highlighting the universal challenges they face, and the profound impact of their compassion, leadership, and care.

This screening is also a fundraiser in support of ICN’s humanitarian work, particularly the GCEF (Girl Child  Education Fund) and N4P (Nurses for Peace) initiatives. While there is no charge to view the film, there will be an opportunity to donate, and all contributions will be gratefully received.
