Professional visits provide a great opportunity to explore some of Helsinki’s renowned education, hospitals, and healthcare facilities. Professional visits are available to ICN 2025 Congress participants for an additional fee of EUR 60.00 per visit.
Most of the venues for professional visits are easily accessible by public transport. For the sites that are not, organized transport will be available.

• Welcome to Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cancer Unit S4A and S4B. These two wards are both located on the 4th floor. S4A is focused on soft tissue sarcoma, neuroendocrine, prostate and head and neck cancers. Treatments include chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and chemoradiotherapy as well as radioisotope treatments. We provide support for treatment-related infections, pain, and side effects, and we also have hospice patients in our unit. In the cancer unit S4B, we specifically treat people with lymphoma, sarcoma, and testicular cancer. We provide chemotherapy and antibody treatments and treat infections, pain, and anemia, among other things. We also perform autologous stem cell transplants. Some patients come for examinations and treatment planning.

• Description: Myyrmäki Centre for the Elderly provides housing services for a total of 199 clients. The residents are persons over 65 years of age. Myyrmäki Centre is home to clients who, due to memory problems or other disabilities, are unable to manage in their own homes. In 24-hour service housing, clients need regular, continuous assistance and supervision. Community housing also offers night-time services based on individual needs.

• The emergency ward of Espoo provides primary healthcare hospital services and is located on the Jorvi Hospital campus. Patients are primarily admitted to the ward through the Jorvi Hospital emergency department at all hours of the day. • The Palliative Care and Home Hospital Center’s home hospitals cover the entire welfare area. Offices are located in Espoo, Kirkkonummi, Lohja, and Raasepori. Palliative Care Center has 2 palliative inpatient wards in Espoo Hospital (Villa Glims and Villa Bell) with 15 beds in each ward. The home hospital provides care for patients with infections and palliative and hospice care. The Western County Wellbeing Service’s palliative care center provides specialized care in outpatient clinics, home hospitals, and inpatient wards, as well as consultation support in Jorvi Hospital and other units.

• The Women's Hospital the largest maternity hospital in HUS area, and also in Finland. The hospital is focused on the demanding specialist medical care of women and newborns. At Women's Hospital, we treat the most high-risk pregnancies and extremely preterm births in the HUS area. • Laakso Hospital is one of the City of Helsinki hospitals with 300 inpatient care beds. Laakso Hospital has several geriatric wards, an infectious diseases ward, a wound care ward, two neurological wards for those recovering from cerebrovascular disorders, a trauma ward for those recovering from multiple fractures and an orthopaedic ward where we tend to those recovering from hip fractures. We will also explore the new Laakso Hospital that is under construction. The Laakso Joint Hospital is a construction project. We are building functioning facilities for the treatment of psychiatric and somatic diseases in Laakso Hospital area for over 900 inpatient care beds.

• Luoto is a substance abuse rehabilitation facility with the capacity of around 30 customers all together. We offer round-the-clock rehabilitation in three different communities. There is one for women, one for men and one for all genders. Our six week rehabilitation program is based on a recovery-oriented frame, community and peer support. Our professionals consist of social- and healthcare workers, an occupational therapist and a psychologist.
